Single-colour prints are a popular, cost-effective option for fashion and promotional T-shirts. With just one screen, setup is quicker and more affordable. But one colour doesn’t mean plain—it can feature intricate details, like fine linework or even a monochrome photo effect.
printing option two
Split fountain printing blends two or more colors in a single pass, creating beautiful gradient or rainbow effects. It’s charged under the 'One Colour' price as it only requires one screen. Some color combinations work better than others—feel free to ask for advice on your design.
printing option three
This process requires the setup of two individual screens—one for each color in the design. To ensure the colour layers align correctly, we use a printing carousel. However, as this is a hand process, some slight imperfections may occur. If your design involves three or more colors, please contact us for a quote!
printing materials
We print on paper, textiles, and other flat, printable surfaces you provide. We prefer organic cotton or natural fibers and cannot print on polyester or lycra fabrics. For bulk orders, we can help source T-shirts or canvas bags in various colors. We highly recommend Stanley/Stella clothing from www.buytshirtsonline.co.uk.
inks
We use Amex pigments and bases for our prints, which are eco-friendly, water-based, and custom-mixed by hand to suit your unique order. For the best results, we recommend printing dark designs on white or light-colored garments. If you'd like a white design on a black T-shirt, feel free to reach out for personalized guidance.
graphics
Supplying your artwork in high resolution and the correct format is essential for the best print quality. Accepted formats are PDF or JPG, 100% black, 300dpi, and scaled to desirable size. For multi-colour designs, send each layer as a separate file. Need help? We offer design services at an additional cost.
screen preparation
Need screens prepared for your own projects? Bring your screen to us, and we’ll coat it with emulsion and expose your high-quality, solid black artwork (PDF required). Turnaround is up to 3 days. Pricing: A4 £20, A3 £24, A2 £28, A1 £34. Add reclaiming for £5 (note: we cannot take responsibility for any tears during the process). Feel free to get in touch with any questions!
